These items were translated and produced by the Prophet Joseph Smith, and most were published in the Church periodicals of his day.” The Pearl of Great Price contains 5 sections: selections from the Book of Moses, the Book of Abraham, Joseph Smith – Matthew, Joseph Smith – History, and the Articles of Faith. The Pearl of Great Price- “The Pearl of Great Price is a selection of choice materials touching many significant aspects of the faith and doctrine of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Book of Mormon shows us that God loves everyone and Christ visited more than just those in Jerusalem. These are some of the ancestors of the Native Americans, both in North and South America. This compilation of scripture starts off in Jerusalem and follows a group of people that left and were guided by God to the Americas. The Book of Mormon- this is companion testament to the Bible of Jesus Christ.

The third and final chunk in the Quad is that of The Book of Mormon, The Doctrine and Covenants, The Pearl of Great Price, and the Index. The Bible Photos- these are photos taken to show “the lands that Jesus walked, where biblical prophets lived and taught, and where many scriptural events took place.” By understanding more about the land we are able to understand more about scriptural events. The Bible Maps- this is a compilation of geographic maps to help us understand the lands that are discussed in the scriptures. Some parts of the translation were published during his lifetime. Although the major portion of the work was completed by July 1833, he continued to make modifications while preparing a manuscript for the press until his death in 1844, and it is possible that some additional modifications would have been made had he lived to publish the entire work. He was divinely commissioned to make the translation and regarded it as “a branch of his calling” as a prophet. “A revision or translation of the King James Version of the Bible begun by the Prophet Joseph Smith in June 1830. Joseph Smith Translation- I am taking the definition for this straight from the Bible Dictionary, since it explains it better than I can. They tried to keep this list as chronological as possible. The Harmony of the Gospels- this is a table that compares the teachings of Savior found in the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and latter-day revelation).

Many of the dates from the time of David on are more accurate, due to the assistance of secular history. Not all the dates are accurate, but they are as exact as experts can find as of now. The Bible Chronology- this section is a timeline of the events in the Bible. I love this addition to my scriptures as I can look up definitions so much easier with it. The Bible Dictionary- is a compilation of definitions for things found in the Bible as pertaining to the scriptures and spiritual things. The Topical Guide- this section is a cross-reference index, allowing for easier studies on certain topics throughout all the scriptures provided in the Quad. The Appendix contains the Topical Guide, Bible Dictionary, Bible Chronology, Harmony of the Gospels, Joseph Smith Translation, Bible Maps, and Bible Photographs. The Bible also contains footnotes that cross-reference certain scriptures with others contained in the Quad. We, as members of the Chuch of Jesus Christ, believe that the Bible is true as far as it was translated correctly. The Bible- this contains both the Old and New Testaments. This is the King James version of the Bible. The first big chunk of the Quad is The Holy Bible. So, I figured I’d make a comprehensive list of what is contained in a Quad. I was asked often as a missionary for our church why my Bible looked so much thicker and different from others.

One thing that is unique to us is our Quad scripture set. We believe in the Bible, Book of Mormon, and modern-day revelations. We are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
